The novel’s first two chapters govern the current story chronology.

Full account

Chapter 01: unpaid rescue contract at Terminus Spire → escape from the blockade → Kestrel’s surviving garrison → Sera’s protection contract → the core and House identities → relief authorized by Sera → Tal captured alive → surrender → voluntary affiliation.

Chapter 02: Kestrel restored → public uniforms and subsequent civilian cover → Holt’s prisoner escort → Grey Nomad under cover names → Resolute Dawn and non-lethal training → prisoner transfer → ambush and authorized armour → boarding damage → counterboarding and captured evidence → return to coats → private identity reveal → limited intervention at Ardent.

Christer and Daniel use Chris Heron and Dan Ward aboard Grey Nomad. Joel and Anton use Joel Hart and Anton Berg. Ardent Judicial Relay is distinct from Ardenvast Gate; Merath Relay and Hollow Torch are not interchangeable with other similarly named places.

The later Ardent / Seraph story belongs to Chapter 03 preview material. Frostward, Veyra’s Turn and Ardenvast background lore remain unplaced in the chapter chronology. Calendar artwork alone does not establish an absolute date for these events.
