Overview

Recover damaged craft and support repairs away from a fixed yard.

Role and service

Mender brings a working cradle to the casualty. Its open repair frame, enclosed fabrication spaces and articulated handling arms allow crews to secure a damaged hull before repairs begin. Protected service cassettes and copper pipe housings make the machinery accessible without leaving biological systems exposed to vacuum.

Recognising the hull

An open horseshoe working frame, offset workshop modules and folded handling arms identify the tender.

Operational limits

Mender has little independent combat capability and needs escorts or a secure recovery area.
