Overview
Sera accepts responsibility for Kestrel’s people before learning the truth about her passengers. Her command remains local as the station chooses House affiliation.
Full account
After rescuing civilians, Sera reaches Terminus Spire with a damaged frigate, twenty-eight surviving crew and two crew members already lost. An unpaid contract becomes a thirty-day claim to Sector Command Hub Kestrel.
Kestrel is abandoned by its former authorities, not empty. Halden Rook and the remaining garrison have kept its civilian population alive. Sera’s protection extends to everyone, including those who decline to sign her contract.
Joel and Anton reveal their House identities during the crisis. Sera does not change clothes or surrender command at that revelation. When reinforcements arrive, she authorizes the defence of the station’s people.
Formal House affiliation comes after the battle, through voluntary acceptance. Kestrel and the Wayward Star keep Sera’s command. Chapter 02 opens with restoration and a new clean station-command coat whose local Kestrel identity remains primary.
